This guide will include information about public golf courses in Little Rock, Arkansas and the surrounding area. This is not a ranking of the courses, but simply an informational post about the options for public golf in the Little Rock area.
The capital city of Arkansas has quite a few options for private golf, but the public golf quality leaves a lot to be desired. There are no public courses in the Little Rock metro area that consistently rank among the best public golf courses in the state rankings.
Rebsamen Golf Course- Little Rock
Rebsamen is a City of Little Rock-owned municipal golf course located along the banks of the Arkansas River in the capital city of Arkansas. The facility has an 18-hole course, a 9-hole executive course, and a driving range. The course was built in the 1950s with major work being done to several of the holes in the 1960s because of erosion near the Arkansas River.

First Tee of Central Arkansas- Little Rock
The First Tee of Central Arkansas features two nine-hole courses, one par 3 and one championship. The championship course provides an opportunity for players of all skills since it has teeing options from just over 2,000 yards to over 3,400 yards. The course is run by the city of Little Rock though it receives a significant amount of its funding through private donations. It is also the home for the First Tee youth program, which offers many options for children and youth to learn about the game.
Country Club of Arkansas- Maumelle
The Country Club of Arkansas was built in the mid-90s and operates as a semi-private course. There are membership options as well as daily play greens fees. The greens were updated to Tifdwarf Bermuda in 2005. The fairways are lined with Loblolly pine trees and water is in play on 11 of the 18 holes. The course plays on 6500 yards from the back tees and offers four sets of tees for golfers to choose from, with the shortest playing 4800 yards.

Burns Park Golf Course- North Little Rock
Burns Park is a municipal golf course located just of interstate 30 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The Burns Park championship course provides a municipal golf experience that is straightforward and leaves a lot to be desired architecturally. Much of the course is on a flat piece of property with holes 10-13 providing the only land movement on the course.

The Greens at North Hills- Sherwood
The Greens at North Hills is a municipal course owned by the city of Sherwood. The course has small, elevated Bermuda greens that are difficult to hit in regulation and equally as tough to get up and down around, especially if the greens are firm. The Greens at North Hills is a parkland course where the holes play next to each other and make it possible to play a round with the same ball.

Pine Valley Golf Course- Sherwood
Pine Valley golf course is a public course in Sherwood that opened in 1968. It is a par 70 that only plays to 5400 yards from the back tees. The fairways are tight and tree-lined and the greens are small, circularly shaped.
Longhills Golf Course- Benton
Longhills golf course underwent some major changes after it was bought by the Lindsey management group. In order to make room for apartment buildings, several holes (5, 6, 7, 8, and 9) from the old layout were eliminated. In order to keep the course 18 holes, several new holes were squeezed into some of the unused lands on the course. It is a good course for beginners or inexperienced golfers.

Greystone Country Club- Cabot
Greystone Country Club is a semi-private course in Cabot. The fairways are sodded with Zoysia grass and the greens are Mini Verde Bermudagrass. The tree-lined fairways of the front nine require accuracy off the tee because of the narrow landing areas. The back nine is defined by water with 6 of the 9 holes having penalty areas in play. Avoiding penalty strokes is key to bringing home a good score at Greystone.

Cypress Creek Golf Club- Cabot
Cypress Creek Golf Club is located just down the street from Greystone. Built in 1998, the course stretches to almost 7400 yards from the back tees. Like Greystone, water comes into play often around Cypress Creek. One of the main differences in comparison to its neighbor course is the width of the landing areas as Cypress gives the golfer just a little more room off of the tee.
